About

We are not here merely to make a living. We are here to enrich the world.”
- Woodrow Wilson (28th U.S. President)

I am Bernard Aw. Since junior college, I’ve developed an interest in Economics, mainly because it was my best subject. But along the way, I was lost in my academic and professional pursuit. Going through both A levels and polytechnic route, working in the media publishing industry before getting back on track by taking up an Economics degree .

My passion is in development economics, poverty reduction and international trade. I am planning to broaden my knowledge in these areas by working, staying and studying in various countries. I believe I’m able to contribute to alleviating poverty in the poorest countries with my acquired knowledge and skills, be it working in multinational corporations, non-governmental organisations or international institutions. I also enjoy photography, philosophy, sociology and French rap music.

I am currently pursuing a part-time basic science degree in Economics and Finance from University of London External Programme. I am counting on the connection between the programme and London School of Economics (my degree’s lead college) for graduate studies in LSE after graduation. Prior and during UOL, I served in the army, worked at two regional trade publishers and founded my photography boutique company.

I hope to continue learning through my life journey of the many pleasures that life has to offer. This blog served as a testament for my learning journey.
